Science Building

Santa Monica College started construction of the new science complex in the spring of 1997. This building replaced the old building that was destroyed in the 1994 Northridge Earthquake.

The 99,109 square-foot building contains state-of-the-art laboratories, multimedia classrooms, student learning centers and faculty offices for both the Physical and Life Sciences departments. Laboratories for the Physical Sciences Department include three general chemistry labs, one organic chemistry lab, physics optics, physics mechanics and physics electronics labs, as well as two student projects labs and an instrument room.
